Terrible Special Effects
This movie had terrible special effects.Twister's tornadoes were 80% better than this. The story was good and so was the acting but the special effects were terrible. It must have needed more money.Lots more.

this movie is great, i enjoyed it. the Special Effects could have been better but it is still great.
shareBull. The special effects were attrocious!! "Could have been better" is an UNDERSTATEMENT! They f****** sucked! When he looked out the window and saw the first tornado, I damn near died laughing at how phony it looked! It was so cartoony looking that my jaw hit the floor in astonishment about why they even bothered showing it at all if it was going to suck that bad! The acting is sub-par in every way, screw it. Read the book instead!

I know the Twister it self looked ugly but you can't tell me that the seen inside the house was decent where it was getting torn apart.
shareI agree that the special effects weren't the greatest, but apparently someone thought they were....if you look under awards for the movie it won the "Gemini" award for best visual effects.
I don't know how....some scenes looked like paintings. but hey, made for TV=small budget. Plot was good though, thats more important.
The effects were ok for a TV movie. I agree Tornado with Bruce Campbell was sad. I laughed my butt off when they walked in the middle of the tornado. Who thought of writting you can walk in the middle of a tornado?

the Special effects are great,very great ! it's a 1996 movie the first made for TV movie on tornadoes guys ! for me it's the best..know you can't see movies like that with category 6/ category 7 !
I Liked Tornado not for the FX but for the ambience (scuse my English, i'm french...:D) small farm etc..
Finally ight of the Twisters is a very good Tornado movie ! and it will be released on 19th April 2006
Okay...In response to all the people making comments about how it was dumb that "people were walking around the inside of the tornado." Isn't there something called the eye of the tornado (or something like that) where it is completely calm...like no wind or anything. If that is true then you would be able to walk around in the tornado. Just a thought....

the fastest winds are in the middle..Tornado is not a Cyclone or Hurricane !
but..if you want to be sure..juste go inside and you gonna see what happen XD
since april 8th when i posted about seeing this movie AGAIN on tv, i wanted to buy it so bad but i hadn't found it til the other day and now it's mine and i watched it last night that is THE best movie of all time matter of fact imma go watch it right now 'cause i love that movie!

a tornado is constantly moving. the eye of a cyclone is really calm and yes there is no wind and it stays like that a long time. with tornados is not the same.
sharewell hey the day after tommorow probly only got good rating on account that the special f-x were so real. this movie takes us back when we didnt rely on computer generated tornadoes for entertainment.. its all about the drama.. the acting and the plot.. i loved this movie and i watch it almost everytime i see a bad thunderstorm coming. =]

You're thinking of the Eye of a Hurricane. A tornado's core usually has multiple mini-cyclones rotating around it.
And just rembember people, It's a TV Movie! Of course the effects are bad. This movie is still better than Tornado
