I don't understand the ending
After Jim let Silver go with the treasure, The captain comes and says: "Your father will be proud of you". Why?
Movies are soundtrack with dialog.
He says "would" as in, "would have been proud if he was alive" because Jim's father is dead and was a sailor or something. So Smollett was saying that Jim lived up to his father's standards and principles.
