How many times does Chazz say that in the film? It's like he has to address Nolte by name in every sentence. Chazz is a screenwriter himself -- shouldn't he have blown the whistle on its overuse? (I stopped counting after 30 times).

I noticed his wife used his name a lot too. I think Ellery's character was supposed to be a simpleton and using Max every other word made him sound not too smart.
