Chazz Palminteri's character should have had an Italian name

Does he look like someone named Ellery Coolidge? In the movie he mentions that he's from New Jersey, in order to account for his New York accent. So why not amend the name in the script to something more believeable?

Who knows, maybe his Father was of English ancestry and named Coolidge,
and his Mother's maiden name was Giordano. Making Palminteri's character a pretty legit Ellery Coolidge.
