Babs, fab or what??????

I really enjoyed this movie and think it's probably one of Barbra's best performancies to date!!! It's a 'feel good' film and has the cinematography and all the actors performance is great!
Doesn't deserve the cruel review by the press, and the ostentatious, and quite frankly harsh remarks from this site. People need to give films directed and produced by actors a chance, they might enjoy them. For example "the Postman" directed by Kevin Costner is forever being slated but is actually a really good film...
i'd love to hear your views

You have you're personal opinion which is good but which i dont agreee with. But im not actually talking about Barbra Streisand im talking about the plot!!! But she was great in it too. I hate to think what is attractive in your book because she looks beautiful in the film!

Yes, it is - a warm and funny movie.
It does slip quite considerably in the last part (which is a shame), but still... The dialogues were witty, especially in the first part - but they were also superbly rendered. I was especially pleasantly surprised - and surprise is the key word here - by Pierce Brosnan's comic performance. Perfect! And the others were... possibly their best. Which was good enough to make for a very convincing interaction and "chemistry" between all of them.
A surprisingly warm and entertaining movie.

HBO aired this film last night and i LOVE it!
the dialogues throughout are hilarious. when i heared
"By the way, would telling you now that I want sex tonight
be enough of a warning?", i pretty much responded like Jeff Bridge did.
i am not a fan of B. Streisand, but she is "very" charming
in this movie. "however", i have to admit that had i knew that
this film is directed by her, then i'd think it's an egotistic film and
soem of the fun might be lost. glad i wasn't biased when watching it.

Huge Barbra fan...I think her skin is flawless and she's beautiful. LOVED her performance, and I Finally Found Someone with Bryan Adams. "By the way, would telling you now that I want sex tonight be enough of a warning?"< Haha, best line! Loved the whole movie, very charming comedy.

I TOTALLY agree. It was definetley a "feel good" film. I watched this movie like 10 times. It was also sad, like the part when she tries to get him in a romantic mood and then he tells her he only chose her because she wasn;t attractive. And at the end, Barbra did such a GREAT job of puling you into the moment. LOVED it.

outoftheflames you must be a young inexperienced boy...

what she gains by losing weight and having a makeover is not the surface change..but respect, love for herself and most importantly self confidence..

Nothing is as sexy as self confidence!

A stunningly beautiful woman can enter a room full of men, but if she lacks confidence nobody will notice her..

An average looking woman can enter the same room, but if she has confidence and feels good, she will be the sexiest woman there and everybody will notice her.

That said...Barbra Streisand could never be considered average by any stretch of the imagination.

This plotline had so much potential, yet it was absolute garbage. The morals of this story are great, however, It was the worst fairy tale of a story i have ever seen, and i love fairy tales. The acting was horrible, the directing was horrible, the music was horrible, everything was horrible. Yes, good for Barbara for writing and directing it. Yes, good for Barbara for singing some songs. Yes she is talented. However, i am sorry, but she is not that great. The only thing she does well is singing; her pursuing any farther than that is bloody ridiculous. They should erradicate this movie from cinema existance.
