Harry and Doris

Does anyone else think that it would have been a good development of the beginning situation that similar to Rose and Greg (but with less complication)Harry and Doris would have found each other? Harry, like Greg always had problems with the young, pretty but air-headed girls, who do not even know basic books and are not suitable for meaningful conversations or for going to concerts with (see the yawning woman). Doris is lively, intelligent, funny although a bit overweight. She is also a loner. I think she would have been a perfect match for Harry in case he would have recognized that mental values are more important for him that good looks.

I know that it is not a fairy tale, but who knows? Rose and Greg's story is like a fairy tale, why not make it better?
