Has Jeff Bridges ever been more sexy and appealing as he was in this film? Bridges has this uncanny ability to play nerdy and sexy at the same time the way no other actor can and he pulls it off flawlessly here. I also thought he had an enormous amount of chemistry with Barbra. They worked really well together IMO.
I'm a big fan of Jeff's, especially after seeing him in this film! I agree, he's extremely sexy. Jeff's a handsome man, but aside from that, I think a lot of his appeal in this film comes from the vulnerability that he injects into this blantanly decent and beautiful gentleman. He's sweet, caring, polite, honest, intelligent. He also seems quite weak in a sense, but also has incredible strength and feels very protective. And, at the same time he's very aloof and is completely affected by the power of romance and lust, and eventually love. All these traits, and the way Jeff executes them, are very attractive. Even though Gregory's theory is "unnatural", Jeff really makes you understand why the character's chosen to adopt such an attitude and mind set towards love. And, btw, who else loves every minute of the potential love making scene?! The man has a great body to boot!
My mum wasn't a big fan of his after she saw him as the bad guy in The Vanishing. Not that she didn't consider him a talented actor, but that he freaked her out! But once she saw Jeff in The Mirror Has Two faces, her attitude changed pretty quickly!
"Lovin' might be a mistake, but it's worth makin'"- Ronan Keating (I Hope You Dance)
Yes, he was sexy in it. I loved his nerdy, mathematical tangents he drifted into in so many of his conversations with Rose. And, the way he demonstrated his teaching style to her also was funny...."no math party". He cracked me up.
I love this movie. He was a very sexy leading man at one time. I remember him as the handsome lead in King Kong and I just rented Against All Odds on Netflix. Looking forward to how that will turn out.
I searched for a clip on youtube and there's a scene at the end of the movie where Jeff's character is having an interaction with a mobster or something and the mobster says "You're out of her life."
And the very last line of the movie is from Jeff Bridges and he says "I figure that's up to her. You're not going to control us forever. Believe me."
He gives her this look and the movie ends with him and Debra winger staring at each other. And the song by Phil Collins comes in and it is just the perfect scene. THAT was sexy.
Oh my ijonesiii I completely agree I mean I think he's sexier in this than any other film I have seen him in. For me I think its the fact that he's so geeky that he doesn't realise how gorgeous he actually is.
