I was watching this for the millionth time (I like to fall asleep to it) last night, and I got to thinking.. Is Claire older than Rose, or is Rose older? I remember the line that Hannah tells Rose: "I don't think your father ever held a baby until you came along." For some odd reason, I always thought that Rose was younger.

Well, in real life, Barbra is about 14 years older than Mimi Rogers.
So I am pretty sure Rose is the older sister - which also plays even more to the theme that she is considered the 'old maid' in that her younger sister had already been married 3 times (lastly to a man Rose had dated, and for whom she had feelings) even before Rose married Gregory.

Here's proof that Rose is older than Claire. It was when Rose and her mom were talking about her dad and her mom said, "I don't think he ever held a baby until you came." So it is assumed that since that was the case, Rose is older. I don't think it would have been possible for her dad to not hold baby Claire until Rose came, now would it?
Potentially. Personally, I think you're right, but according to my family,my great-grandfather never held a baby until his first grandchild came along. Caused trouble in the family.
