I didn't quite get the ending, so Barbara's character agreed to be with Jeff's character with the agreement that they never had sex ?

He finally woke up and realized that he wanted her sexually and that she needed him sexually in order for the marriage to work. So I think they basically agreed to have a normal relationship and that his idea of a sex-free marriage just would never work.

gregory finally realized that he loved her and couldn't live without her..he wanted a normal relationship...

I also like to think that he realized that being in love is not a bad distracting thing when you fall for a person that was a person worthy of love and/or actually loved him back
