My personal problem with Babs in the "ugly duckling" role

I love Barbra Streisand. LOVE her. My whole life - I grew up with her music in my house as a kid. I grew up with her as a kid watching The Way We Were, For Pete's Sake, Funny Girl/Lady, and first and foremost, What's Up Doc.

She has a sparkle about her, a charisma that is undeniable. She was so goddamned attractive in What's Up Doc I can't even stand it. And by attractive, I don't even mean good-looking. She said it best, something like, "You can't fight a tidal wave." How could anyone NOT fall in love with her in that movie?

So I can't really accept her in this ugly duckling role; sorry. And I can't see her as anything but desirable here, because, after all, she's still Barbra.

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

Attraction doesn't mean one has to be beautiful physically, just that one is attracted to another for whatever reason. Clearly she's a movie star because of her charisma but Streisand in all honesty is closer to ugly physically than she is to beautiful. And I've seen WUD and I found her loud and ugly there tbh. But I'm not a big fan of hers.
