Worst Fate - Nathalie Lake's or General Decker's?

Who had the worst fate in all this, Nathalie Lake or General Decker? Nathalie was abducted by the Martians, who subsequently mutilated her body severing her head. Somehow, she survived only to endure humiliation by witnessing her dog's head affixed to her former body and her own head attached to the beast's body. Formerly a beautiful national tv reporter, she would now live as a repulsive chimera-like beast, a human head on a chihuahua's body. She would spend the remainder of her earthly existence in this wretched state.

On the other hand, General Decker, who was right about the Martians the entire movie, was a powerful man. His instincts of the Martians' nefarious plans proved correct. He was the Laocoon of the Dale Administration. However, instead of living to see the Martians' comeuppance, he was mocked and shrunk into a shell of his former self by the Martians. As if this abject humiliation wasn't enough, he was unceremoniously squashed by the Martian overlord. At least he remained defiant in the end.

Given the above-referenced facts, who had the worst fate?
