Incredible Cast

Has any film ever had such a strong line up of stars and character actors? Never really liked her but SJP is brilliant - Loved her interview scene with Pierce Brosnan.

It is a pretty impressive cast but my favourite has always been True Romance. The scene between Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken is just awesome and Gary Oldman is fantastic as Drexel Spivey. Let's not forget Val Kilmer as Elvis!

So many to choose from, but JFK and Tombstone were pretty awesome too.

"Glengarry, Glenross" is pretty good and underrated. (Sorry, all male again) There are plenty of others...

It's not "sci-fi", it's SF!

I definitely second this one. Not only for your props to the cast but for highlighting how underrated Glengarry Glen Ross is. The number of lines from that movie that my friends and I ended up quoting for months afterwards is massive.

My two favourite bits: 1) The entire Alec Baldwin scene. 2) Dave Moss goes to Wisconsin.

Could someone tell me who was the Secret Serviceman Mitch?

He saved the President in one scene.
"That's my job, Sir."

I know this is a late reply but Mitch was played by actor Brian Haley

I don't care that it was a late reply. THANK you for replying.

Ah-HAH! THAT'S why he looked familiar. He was The Hooded Avenger on The Weird Al Show!

Thanks again!

I loathe SJP, but she was funny in this, and funny in First Wives Club. Those are the only two things I've ever been able to watch her in. That was a great ensemble cast, too. Another would be Steel Magnolias.

reply

Yes the cast was awesome- even young Ray J was good. This movie should've been a blockbuster with all the talent and Campiness, maybe come out in theaters again!

I only know her from movies as I've never seen that SATC horror. But she is also excellent in Tim Burton's "Ed Wood" - which is a f*&$)£g brilliant film, with a superb cast on top form (it was a box-office bomb because the bosses basically criminally un-promoted and not-distributed it, despite the fact that it got an Best Supp Actor Oscar for Martin Landau, universally superb reviews and became an almost instant cult hit. It also suffered from bosses then making it unavailable on video, then DVD etc, for the best part of 20 years..!)

Her first line: "Do I really got a face like a horse...?"

What could I possibly add that would be a better recommendation?

"It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World" and "Rat Race" and the Ocean movies.

The cast is incredible and it is great to watch them having fun with their roles.

I agree. I just rewatched this recently and when you consider who was big when this came out, this movie really managed to snag tons of major stars, and even a few who weren't especially famous yet (Natalie Portman, Jack Black). And not just stars, but stars who I can't imagine were cheap or easy to get. And they all give pretty enthusiastic performances. The cast is one part of this movie that I think works pretty perfectly.

I especially liked Sylvia Sidney!
