Watched it in black and white
I turned the color down on the TV. The movie worked a lot better this way! I reccomend others watching it like this too! The 50s vibe works a lot better and it definitely feels like a bad (but fun) Ed Wood movie!

shareSome people really like B&W, and maybe it works well that way, but just to be insufferably technical, it's not really a spoof of a 1950's B&W SciFi movie. It's based on some very colorful trading cards from 1962:

I know it's based on the Topps cards. But it is such a loose adaptation. They are both completely different things.
Burton's film ditches the serious, almost disturbing tone of the cards and instead goes for a silly, fun and comedic spoof/parody of 50s sci-fi movies.
One day I would like a new film version which is closer to the material.

I agree, I was thinking just the same, myself. It works much better in B&W.
shareHaven't seen this in a few years and have the DVD because I loved it so much.
Never thought about watching in B&W, but it's a great idea.
