Waldman: The Early Years/the dog scene

Is it just me or would anyone else love to see a Waldman (Brian Cox) spin-off? Even though he's barely in the movie and dies WAY too early, he's seriously one of my favorite movie characters of the last 20 years. EVERY single line he says and the way he says them is hilarious.

And the "dog" scene has to be one of the strangest, most random monologues ever in the history of action movies. Anyone know if that was improvised?

Anyone know if that was improvised?

Since it appears in the February 24, 1995, draft of the screenplay (http://www.weeklyscript.com/Long%20Kiss%20Goodnight,%20The.txt), it was apparently not improvised. (The character was named Windeman at this point.)

Yeah, great character, and Brian Cox has been excellent in every role I've ever seen him play.

Agreed, he has some of the funniest lines. The dog scene is absolutely hilarious.

Even the end of the world has to start someplace...
