Recently Revisited this film!

I hadn't seen this movie since it's original vhs release back in 1997 and I always liked the picture, I even like Cuthroat Island which I think is overly bashed, and had it on vhs taped off Encore. I must say it is a fun movie, my only gripe with it is some things feel uneven about it. Let's go over the things I didnt like- The scenes with the President were horrible, they looked cheap and almost as if they were shot for a made for cable film- the scenes with Geena Davis with her family in the beginning felt too like a made for cable film even though I'm guessing Harlin was going for an overly cheesey Brady bunch style family opening to contrast her transformation- the first action sequence in the house against the one eyed guy seemed again cheesey, and his scene in the prison when he notices her on tv looked like a made for cable film, so basically the whole first half of the picture before her transformation I just felt seemed badly done but once her toture scene came it just seemed like all the scenes got better as the movie went along. I like the film those are just tiny nitpicks.
