Treat Williams BEST performance

I really enjoyed "The Late Shift", it had the right touch of personality and comedy without becoming a parody of what actually happened in real life. I thought the star of the movie was Treat Williams playing Michael Ovitz, he steals every scene he's in with his air of slick confidence. I thought Kathy Bates was excellent as well, although I thought she was a little over the top at points.

Bottom Line: 8.5/10

I hope this comes out on DVD, its definitely worth adding to the collection.....

if you mean the best performance in this movie was treat williams as michael ovitz, fine. but if you mean treat williams's best performance, you are so, so wrong. try "prince of the city." or even "hair."

Havent' seen the rest of his movies, but his performance as Ovitz was pretty darn good, whether accurate or not.

Williams was great in this movie, but I would hardly refer to it as his best performance...you must have missed PRINCE OF THE CITY and HAIR.

if you guys think kathy lee bates was over the top then you haven't read the book. neither have i for that matter lol but i hear that the movie gives a much more tame portrayal of how out of control helen kushnik was compared to how she is portrayed in the book by new york times author (hence real life).

Who the hell is Kathy Lee Bates?

I saw this movie well over a decade ago, but I'm reading the book now. The book paints her as a very evil woman. And after reading some accounts, I'm sure she probably suffered from some form of bi-polar disorder.

Oh stewardess...I speak jive.

HAIR???? Izzat a joke???

I agree that Treat Williams is wonderful in this. At times I still hear his voice saying "it's simply bad business practice"---his Ovitz was Mr. Godlike Calm and Confidence.
