My favorite Kathy Bates performance EVER!!!
I happen to be a huge Kathy Bates fan, and I have to say her portrayal of Helen Kushnik(sp?) had me on the floor. Kathy was just brilliant!!!!!! You go, Girl!
shareShe WAS great, especially when she's talking to Littlefield on the car phone, and says, "F...you, and the horse you rode in on." Unfortunately, when a role like this comes up, Ms. Bates is usually the first actress thought of, and she seems to be pigeonholed in these roles now.

Of course, Helen Krushnik died the same day as the award ceremony and Kathy's name was not among the announced nominees(they announced 4 that night). I bet Kathy pulled her name from the nominees at the last second out of respect for Mrs. Krushnik and her family.
Kathy's best role is The Waterboy as Momma.
