Sorry, if this has been discussed before, but am just watching this movie now and never realized that Letterman was a redhead (with highlights no less). Must have been the lighting on his show - always thought he was simply a brown headed boy.

He wasn't a redhead. John Michael Higgins the actor who played him is.

When this movie came out Letterman made frequent jokes about; "my flaming red hair" and for sketches based on the movie he wore a really bad red wig. It was funny!
