I just saw THE LATE SHIFT for the first time in over ten years. Daniel Roebuck's accent for Jay Leno is excruciatingly over-the-top. It nearly ruined my re-viewing experience.

Haha, I'm watching this right now and the first thing I thought of was Adam Sandler when I heard Roebuck talking to Bates about his new motorcycle. Spot on.

Roebuck had the look but not the voice, he sounded more like Sandler and Woody Allen than he did Jay.

I thought his voice was fine, but he looked absolutely NOTHING like Jay Leno. Why was this actor even cast? He tried his best, but even with that embarassingly obvious plastic chin, his physical appearence looks nothing like the real Jay Leno. Now the guy who played David Letterman on the other hand, he was spot on! Except for the weird red hair, dunno why the producers didn't make him wear a brown wig.
