Workprint

According to IMDB:
A 130 minutes long VHS workprint of the film, which was probably Walter Hill's original rough cut, was in circulation in 1995 and 1996. It had no opening and ending credits but it did have lot of additional scenes, although it's not known if it also had the original ending of the film with the alternative final showdown between Smith and Hickey, and the different death of Hickey. But ever since those years it hasn't showed up.

Any workprint collectors have this? I’m looking to trade if possible. Hit me up at [email protected]

reply

The workprint didn't have the Ry Cooder soundtrack and that took away from the film. David Patrick Kelly & Bruce Dern had lager parts. I remember liking the released cut better as it had more Bruce Willis.

Oh interesting. Do you have a copy?

reply

That VHS tape is long gone! You need to reach out to Freeman Davies and ask if he still have a copy. He had a nice collection in the past.

reply

Okay, will do. Does he have an email or could I give you my email to give to him.

ARE YOU TONY FROM HACK THE MOVIES?

reply

Lol, no no. I'm just a movie lover. I've loved watching movies since I was in high school.

reply

I THINK OF YOU AS THE WORKPRINT GUY NOW...IS THAT COOL?

reply

Sure lol.

reply

Wasn't he the editor of the movie? I could have sworn he edited Hill's other movie Johnny Handsome.
