Easily among the greatest comedies of all time
Fact.
shareYep. Hilarious through and through.
Y'know, I could eat a peach for hours
I agree. Not only are the gags hilarious, the film overall is also surprisingly moving and sad. Woody Harrelson gives a really heartfelt performance that makes you feel for his downtrodden loser and the bleak life he has led. One of the things I like about many of the Farrellys' movies is their tendency to cast "straight" actors and not just comedians (e.g. Harrelson, Jeff Daniels, Matt Damon), who manage to be funny while bringing a little something extra to their roles.
