It is theoretically possible to get twenty strikes in a row without having bragging rights to a perfect 300.
If you play 2 games in a row and your first shot is not a strike and the entire rest of your game is strikes then in your second game start with strikes and every shot except for the very last one is a strike you would have the last ten shots of the first game and the first ten shots of the second game as strikes but no perfect 300.
