The Mob was not accurate in this movie. If a solider (The Teacher, Vincent, Mark, Paul or whatever his name is) took out the Boss of the family (Louie Buffano) and/or the Underboss (Joseph Buffano, his son) without proper authorization, then every Capo and member of his crew in the city would be hunting his a** down. (In real life, John Gotti was the exception because Gotti had the blessing and support of high ranking members of the Gambino family to take out Paul Castellano.) The Teacher would have never made it past the airport. The only explaniation is that The Teacher had allies in the Buffano family who actually wanted Louie and his son Dead.
I am sure that the "Buffano" family was larger than the boss, underboss, The Teacher and Eddie.
Overall I thought the movie was good and the casting was great, especially James Gandolfini. His speech, mannerism's ect all seemed to mirror Tony Soprano, even though this movie was made before The Sopranos. I wonder if David Chase saw this movie and got the idea for Gandolfini from this film.
I also noticed Michael Rispoli (Joey Buffano)in this film as well. The Sopranos's fans will know Rispoli as Jackie Aprile, Sr.
