I just figured out Jerry Maguire
After all these years. Ive loved this movid but the ending always bothered me. It left me with a weird feeling (the love story). But now I get it.
Jerry told Rod he doesnt play with his heart. In his personal life he does but not on the field. Then that transformation takes place.
Jerry went through his transformation and finally ran his agent/client business with his heart. He realized it was now time to go home and give his family/his personal life his heart.
We dont know if Jerry and Dorothy will make it - but we know Jerry is going to give it all hes got. That makes me feel better about their whole odd love story.
I also think when he is saying "we live in a cynical world....." What he is saying is life is *beep* Its all *beep* business, and all that happens in life. But if we have something special lets make it special lets do this lets love each other. Like Rod when he exits the locker room and the reporters bombard him with his 10 minutes of fame, he is in the middle of the crowd in the eye of the storm calling his wife. His family, his love. Because when thats all over and the spotlights on someone else - he'll still have the gold at home.
Jerry is going to have that too.
What say you?
