Well, the ending of ID is more satisfying than 2001, but otherwise there's no comparison in quality between ID and the others.

The feel good and special effects is better. The idea of the powerful aliens is much better and it has some good moments of comedy and drama.

This is a fun movie that dusts off a lot of old cliches and does them well, but "CEOT3K" is a unique and enchanting movie.

Not better. But I'll agree that Independence Day is a more rewatchable film than any of the above.

Right now, of the four mentioned, I own Independence Day and 2001 on 4K Blu-Ray, but I bought ID4 first.

Close Encounters I've owned in the past on Blu-Ray but I don't have it right now.

E.T. can fuck off. It's a good movie, but it's overrated and not a film I ever feel the desire to revisit.
