can someone clear something up was angelique a demon who became human who bacame a cenobite?
share(spoilers below, if you haven't seen the entire film)
From what I interpreted from the film.... Angelique was a human that one of the rich people who
commissioned the Puzzlebox(forgot his name) wanted to use for skin for the Demon he was summoning. So he strangled her, and removed her skin.
HIs friend summoned the Demon force from the puzzle box, and she "inhabited" the skin, and became a Cenobite in a human body...lol.... He wanted a beautiful demonic "servant."
Then she rebelled and returned to Pinhead, as a morphing of her human and Cenobite selves. Whew :)

I don't think that is what happened. If you read the comics and infer from the movie you get a better idea.
1. Peasant women (perhaps prostitute) was brought to the French Chateau with promise of food or money
2. She was killed and skinned and this was used to house the form of the demon that was summoned.
3. This demon was named Angelique by the French magician who summoned her
4. In the present (building) - when Pinhead and Angelique meet he says things have changed in Hell. Basically Hell has changed from a focus of temptation (hence Angelique's beautiful form) to a focus of suffering (hence the cenobite form). I think there was a change in the leadership from Satan to Leviathan that brought this about. Someone can correct me on this.
5. Since Angelique was not controlled by the leadership of Hell while she was on Earth she could retain her earthly form. This continued when things went bad and she until she was dragged back to Hell. You can tell she did not wantto return as she was screaming as the hooks were pulling her into the cube.
6. In the future (space station) you see Angelique was changed to a cenobite upon her return trip to Hell and taking into account the new leadership there.
