I guess I'm in the minority in that I thought it told the story of the box, which wasn't really done in any of the preceeding three. Still if you only wanted gore and phrases like "There is no good or evil, just flesh and desires", there's plenty of other Hell Raiser films.

The space part is only to show the very beginning, and *maybe* the very end. Bloodline is an excellent timeline for the franchise if you ask me. It succeeds on all levels

I dislike the fact that it's no ones film.
It isn't Kevin yager,s Joe Chappells, Clive Barkers, Pete Atkins or even DOug Bradleys'. Poor Valentina Vargas had her naturall europena accent dubbed with a poor US replica.
The film tells a false history of the Box, at odds with Barker's co-creted comics timeline. It isn't even Atkins versiopn, the film was so butchered and cut up. Gone is Paul's noble sacrifice, the ENTIRE point of the film being the Bloodline HAS to die at the end.
They remove the genius of the Box, saying it was someone elses design and add the lame summoning of Angelique instea dof having her already there as a dmeonic princess. They cut all the in-fighting and her attempted assissiantion of Pinhead.
Bloodline doens't fit anyones vision and doens't give anythign but a false watered-down history of the Box. It's a mess of a film that could and shoul;d have been so much more.
