Considering the fact that Elliot Spencer took a journey into hell and was transformed into a Cenobite in the 20th century, angelique has always been to hell. Pinhead speaks as if they go way back, when in-fact he never would have known her since she was on Earth long before Pinhead even came to be.
shareOkay, here's a thought. Bear in mind Angelique's nature: she is a shell containing something far, far older. It's probably not a stretch to assume that the creature inside of Pinhead is much the same.

Well, Pinhead has been referred to as "The Dark Prince of pain." Angelique is a Princess. They obviously have had conflicts with each other before in hell. I believe that with Angelique's absence from Hell, Leviathan made Pinhead it's favourite child and made him more powerful than other Cenobites (similar to Channard in Hellbound).
shareMy guess is that when they met in that scene he was already pinhead for several decades. It's possible Angelique connected with him during that time. I'm also thinking that hell can certainly have records of previous residents that Pin head could have read during his free time when he wasn't dismembering seekers who opened the dimension and invited him to play.

I think he knew OF her, and she, being the Princess of Hell, knew OF him, but they had never actually met before.
