Pinhead + Anqelique...

I've seen this movie so many times & love it. But everytime I do, I always sense there's something going on between Pinhead & Angelique. In the 'tempatation is allusion' scene, they seem to be getting a little sensual before the cops came in. And Pinhead seems to be calling her pooky names like "princess" (or is that just a short form for what she is - the princess of torment?) Am I crazy... or does anybody else sense it to?

Confused

reply

yes, i noticed it as well, but i don't think Pinhead is capable of ever showing an emotion such as love (or lust). as much as i think they would have made a great couple...

reply

What about Channard in hellbound. Near the end of the movie when Julia came (disguised as Kirsty) he said "Julia!" in a surprised way and kissed her. I always get confused, if Pinhead can't show emotion then how came Channard can? Or is it they have different qualities when they were made?

Te he... couple of the year... Pinhead & Angelique!!!! Wedding bells are ringing!!!

reply

Channard was an experimental Cenobite. He was allowed to retain his memories and some of his own personality and in exchange, he was directly tethered to Hell by the tentacle that was stuck to his head. Pinhead can show some emotion. He has been angry several times and amused as well so why not lust too. Never the less, Pinhead seemed more disgusted with Angelique than anything else because she lived as a human and did not show herself as she really was. Apparently, between the second and third story, Pinhead got pissed at her, robbed her of her free will, and pinned her scalp to her shoulders.

Do I look like someone who cares what god thinks?

reply

I'm a little iffy on this.... I agree with you both. I think that you ar right americanpsycho51glamorama that Pinhead was disgusted with Angelique by the way she acted, but I also agree with magic_fairy that in the temptation is allusion scene that they were getting a little sensual before the security guards came in… I watched the movie again after I saw this posted and I think that if the security guards hadn’t come, Pinhead and Angelique could have been doing a lot more than cutting each other’s chests...

He didn't say Julia. Frank said "Julia" when she returned to his Hell with Tiffany.

Channard said, and I quote, "I knew you'd come back."

Hopelessly in love with Uma Thurman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Emmy Rossum

He apparantly had a "mate" of sorts in the comics named Merkova (she's got a horse's jaw fixed onto the bottom half of her face where her own jaw should be; don't ask how her and Pinhead are structually compatible) in the comics, but she died. He even cries.

Cool, interesting aswell :D
I had never heard of that, I should really get to see this movie (Cant seem to find this exact movie...)

Congratulations! on a scale of perversity from 1-10, you just hit a 74.

That's one of the main things I've noticed in the movie. He was acting like he was aroused around Angelique. His dialogue seemed to be very soothingly sensual. So, is hers. Up until then, I've never seen Pinhead act so turned on by a girl on his league. I know that she's beautiful and all but he was 'infatuated' with her. By the way, she had like two sex scenes in this movie. She should've gotten it on with Pinhead. Whoa! Cenobite sex!

There actually WAS something going on between Pinhead and Angelique in the Yagher-version. But not exactly in a romantic way. Before the cops came in the scene continued with Pinhead aggressively demanding an answer from Angelique to what Merchant told her about his Lament Configuration. "You have a secret, don't you princess? What did Merchant tell you? Did you think you could hide it from ME?" The predlude to this little argument originally DID include some sexual themes, if you wish to called it that way. Pinhead licking of Angeliques blood from the hook on his index finger for example.

But I doubt there ever was any affection between them.

The Smithee-version has Pinhead saying "You've been away to long, princess!" at the beginning of the "present"-segment. This sounds like he missed her but in the Yagher-version he actually says "You've been away to long princess. Fear is for humans!" because Angelique said that she was afraid of the power of Merchants invention.

Indeed. That's because she saw that the room wasn't just a Lament Configuration but also a proto-type Elysian Configuraion. Whilst Pinhead wnated to use the Giant Lament to open the gateway she wanted to use the Elysian to kill Pinhead.

Check out the original script on my website for what was pretty much filmed. An alternative cut has also been found which contains SOME but not all of Yagher's material.

Delosario and Scarecrow, thanks. I was reading my own post and didn't even realize it was my own! LOOOLLLLL!!!!! But, yes. Now, I get it. It's a bit of a 'love'/hate relationship with the two of them, huh? Pretty hot.
I gotta find that script somewhere on the cenobite website!

The script is in the Library section. And some clips of the original cut are now on youtube.

OMG, again with the Pinhead/Kirsty. It's not there and it's not happening. If anything form of a relationship will be developed, it'll be between Pinhead and Angelique. At the time, during the flashback story, they had a lust/hate relationship. Both had different views of how to collect souls; Angelique through seduction, Pinhead through pain. It was a type of rivalry, but both were "attracted" (for lack of a better word) to each other. Pinhead was trying to show Angelique her true potential as a demon and the pleasure she could get through pain and torment, both through others and herself. He gave her an experience of both when he cut her open and when he created the Twin Cenobite, and she found ecstasy in both. He apparently got what he wanted by brining out her true nature and inner darkness, as revealed when they appeared on the space station with her now as a cenobite. Can you imagine how sadistic she must be then. A human turned cenobite is evil enough, a demon turned cenobite, not to mention the PRINCESS of Hell, now that's a whole new league of evil. Now pair that up with the leader of the cenobites and you've got one sadistic couple. She already appears to be Pinhead's second in command at that point. Possible consort, maybe? And I saw on a deleted scene on YouTube where Cenobite Angelique says gives the Box to Pinhead and says something about giving a present to our "pet", referring to the Chatterer Beast. Regardless of that, the two of them, along with Twin Cenobite, are now trapped in Oblivion forever.

reply

They're possibly trapped in Oblivion, but then again, maybe they're not. All we know about the Elysium Configuration's purpose is that it designed to permanently close the gateway to Earth that the Lament Configuration provides to Hell (nothing was said about closing other gateways between Hell and Earth), and to kill any cenobites trapped within it. However, nothing was said about Elysium Configuration being able to destroy souls. Captain Elliot Spencer as the cenobite Pinhead may be permanently dead, but his soul and the souls of the other cenobites that were killed may in fact still live on and are trapped somewhere, perhaps in Limbo. As for Angelique, either she's with the other dead cenobites' souls trapped somewhere or she is back in Hell but can't be turned back into a cenobite forever.

reply

Perhaps. I was always under the impression that there were three sides of the coin, so to speak. Hell, Earth, and the Lament Configuration, which connected the two and acted as a doorway. The cenobites were inside the Elysium Configuration, which closed the door to Hell and canceled out the Lament Configuration, destroying both and trapping them in a space between Hell and Earth. This place would have been the Lament Configuration, but since it was destroyed, they're trapped in nothingness, aka Oblivion.

Maybe I'm missing something, having only seen the original four films (and never reading/seeing the original version of this one)but, um...isn't Pinhead supposed to be a Captain from the first world war? Meaning he never entered hell until the 20th century?
Angelique left hell in the 18th century, and then lived as a human (more or less) until 1996, yes? So...how the frick do they know each other? He calls her princess, they act intimately with each other, but they NEVER SHOULD HAVE EVEN MET.
Or is that just me? Legit question, I'm just curious.

reply

I don't think Pinhead knows her but knows OF her (and what her human guise looks like), and Angelique didn't seem to recognize him when he first stepped out of Hell, commenting that "things seem to have changed".
