I think the cuts in filiming hurt this film

I liked this film, however I am not sure why the studio wanted to get to Pinhead so qucikly, the scences that were cut were pivotal to the story and filled in the gaps of the story, I do not understand why they wanted to move so quickly, and if you watch them in context with the original feature, it becomes a completely different movie and more interesting explaining Pinheads motivation throughout the movie. I think the cut that were made hindered the film and made it seem jumpy and did not progress the plot, plus the ending seemed generic as well. They should have kept the orignal concept it would have made the film a bit more interesting than what was provided as a consequence as a result of a dispute between the studio and the previous director on the direction the film should go.
