when her mother was talking about that everybody has a job they have to do, then Harriet asked her what her job is than her mother says "alot of unseen, and unappreciated things." what exactly did she mean?

Well mothers are generally underappreciated as I see it. They do things for their kids and never hear thank yous or anything else. Yes they have mother's day but a mother's unconditional love goes far beyond the scope of one day. Anyway I think it means that as a mother she does a lot of things that no one notices or acknowledges.
