Harriet the Spy 2, would it work?

Do you think that it’s too crazy to think about a sequel for this movie? I’m talking about a sequel with the main characters still been played by the original cast. So far the three friends are still actors and don’t have anything major going on in their careers. I think it would be a good storyline about their college years, and whichever cast member doesn’t sign then that character can be out of the movie. Rosy could still come back and maybe this could be the part where Harriet publishes her first book!

I don’t know I guess I got a little exited there after finishing watching this movie today. It’s a cute little movie and I think it does have a potential to have a good sequel for a college theme or freshly out of college theme as well.

i think its a good idea. if they got the right people to work on it it would be a huge success.

But i would like to see a prequel so i can see where her ideas originated from and not just from golly being in her life.

Effectively a film about a journalist really, it'd be bollocks, like this film wasn't bad enough!

I always thought it would be sweet to see a very, VERY loose adaptation of 'The Long Secret' which is the actual sequel to the novel, 'Harriet the Spy'. I mean, it would be an adaptation in name only, really, with the focus actually being on the trio reconnecting at this point in their lives over Thanksgiving break. Yes. I have given this a lot of thought.

Rather than the bizarre notes left around Water Mill like in the book, the messages could be cryptic graffiti all over the city of New York that Harriet decides to cover for a magazine she's works for. While home, she meets up with Sport who is a teacher at their old junior high. Janie is conducting research at a museum and is seen a few times here and there, but I think it would be great if they actually gave a little bit of time between Harriet and Beth Ellen (the sequel's original sidekick), as Harriet not only rediscovers her childhood, but realizes how much Beth Ellen and her other peers actually longed to be let into her world.

Blah blah blah, Harriet discovers who the cryptic graffiti is from (maybe some sad retired artist who pursued something else and lost sight of what was important until it was too late), but the REAL long secret is that... GASP! Sport has loved her all along. Yes. I turned this into a sappy movie.

But seriously though. Wouldn't it be beautiful to see some montage of Harriet, Sport, and Janie at Coney Island to this tune? CAN YOU IMAGINE THE NOSTALGIC TEARS FLOODING THE THEATER?

You know how 'Toy Story 3' really was closure for the generation that grew up with the Toy Story (and to a degree, all early Pixar) movies? Well, 'The Long Secret' could kind of be Nickelodeon's version of that. Something for the generation that experienced Nick's first full-length film; while simultaneously being a homage to the quirky and heartwarming tone of what made so much of 90's Nick work.

FINALLY, CREDITS ROLLING TO THIS WOULD BE PERFECTION:
