I admit I've not seen the film yet. But the book has long been a favorite of mine since I was a preteen.
Harriet was an odd character. You liked her, and found her to be amusing & intelligent & interesting. But did anyone else think that Harriet went too far? Cutting a chunk of a girl's hair? Putting a baby frog in a desk?
"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus." "Didn't he discover America?" "Penfold, shush."
The movie is super tame, Harriet's revenge is even weaker in the movie.
And you're seriously complaining about a baby frog? One? Um, have you read Matilda? And do you not care that Harriet planned to break one of Janie's bones in the book?
Yeah...a frog is totally going too far. I mean, they only invaded her privacy, bullied her, tortured her, ostracized her, formed a club against her and dumped ink on her.
You, dear poster, have posted what as known here on teh innernetz as a "fail".
I asked a legitimate question. Yes, the kids shouldn't have taken it so far. But Harriet DID write some terrible things about them all.
And cutting off someone's hair is a bit over the top. If Harriet was going to do such a thing, she should have done it to Rachel. Rachel is the one who dumped ink on her.
I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus. Didn't he discover America? Penfold, shush.
