Common! How can you be so naive?! John Gotti was a thief, extortionist, Big Time drug dealer and many other things, but worst of all a brutal murderer. Yes he was popular with the public and the media thrived on him but that doesn't belittle his crimes! While I am huge fan of the mob especially the Jewish Mob - some of the most brutal mobsters to have ever lived - I realised that they are far far far from being good citzens. Gotti served time for hijacking with use of iron bars, and later for murder. His idol was Albert Anastasia nicknamed LORD HIGH EXECUTIONER! If the man choose a succesful contract killer as his idol he must have be a bit twisted. His public act was exactly that an act. A front for his crimes so as not to be convicted and remain out of jail. The man decreed and carried out death sentences to wise guys who wouldn't show up to his club the Ravenite. Gotti was arrogant and stupid for believing the law wouldn't get their hands on him. By saying other people were worse (Even though I doubt that) that doesn't mean Gotti was good. He might not have prided in his murders like Little Nicky Scarfo but he sure as hell wasn't ashamed of it.

LOL Gotti was pretty bad. He would cherish the moment of breaking some one’s legs, or putting a gun in a cop’s mouth and making him beg for his life (and tell the story later). He would threaten to blow somebody up if they didn’t call him back soon. He would deride the *beep* out of some one if they left his traditional dinner at his social club. Gotti was just a bad seed. He was even awful as a child & his teachers didn’t mind if he was absent. The reason most ignore all of the bad stuff is because he gave us something right out of the movies.
