The movie made John Gotti Look Good!

I dont know if it was just me , but this movie made JG look good. Ive read alot about John and he wasn't such a nice guy as this movie made him out to be.

Paul Castellano was made out to be a Jerk, but if you saw Boss Of Bosses it made you feel sorry for Paul and hate JG, its funny how movies can do that to you.

I wonder wat the real story is.

This movie is a tribute for JG. Well afcours they want to make him look good at his film. But in real life is was bad *beep* He actualy killed Favara with a shainsaw...

Ah, the "experts" popping up because they browsed some website...

Favara was killed by "Charlie" Carneglia, on Gotti's explicit orders - and the first thing Carneglia did after the murder was phoning Gotti to let him know that the "deal" had been done. Salvatore Gravano had as much to do with the murder as he did with the murders of Coll or Anastasia.

I agree, it's interesting because these chain of events were amazing, they've made a movie on everybody involved, seeing it through the eyes of everybody.

John Gotti was vicious, yeah. The only thing they got right about him was his volcanic temper & the way he talked. As for Boss of Bosses, that movie sucked. The characters were all off, especially Neil & Gotti, who is of stout overbearing not of slim features. As for the real story? There are many errors in GOTTI, but you can read about them in Capeci’s breakdown of it on his website.

reply

Maybe J. Gotti was made to look good because if it had been otherwise the writer and director of this movie would have gotten wacked a long time ago.

John Gotti was a vicious SOB

Check out episode 2.

Some kid threatened his grandson at kindergarten. His daughter Victoria called up his mother and talked to her. Gotti is displeased, saying that she should have said

"You want to wake up in the morning and not see your son anymore? You want us to cut his tounge out? So what if he used the N word. Being a n***er is an embarassment, being John Gotti's grandson is an honour."

reply

Yikes.
Yeah, I'm sure they made him look good. Didn't anyone think the same thing of Goodfellas? I thought they made Henry Hill look a lot better than he was.

reply

That's very true. I read Wiseguy and another book about Lufthansa called The Heist. The 2nd one was more honest I thought. It didn't pander to the fact that Hill was the main character of the story and cast him as a hustler trying to make ends meet. It's a great book. I remember one part of it that said Jimmy(I think) had gone to Hills apartment and found him in bed with a man and a woman so coked out of his mind he didn't know which one had just gone down on him. (Or was it the other way around?) Either way, The Heist by Ernest Volkman.
