The cops never followed up to find out who killed this kid? What a travesty. So sad.
I don't know how that couple lived through this ordeal.

I thought they concluded that it was the brother-in-law who was the perpetrator. Thus, with it being so long after the crime took place, they most likely wouldn't get a conviction.

They did and David was cleared.
shareyes david was cleared and it was the uncle rob kinney that did it but with it being so long after it happened they had no proof on him so no one was ever charged with really killing her. i think for being a parent and having a kid killed and knowing who killed them but never being able to have peace with ur child's murder is the very worst thing that could happen.
shareThe evidence seemed very strong that Rob Kinney was the killer. I also believe that he tried to abduct the other girl talked about in the movie when her Mother woke up. Why didn't they follow up on leads for Mr. Kinney? The taped confession and the witness accounts could have at least brought an indictment. They falsified evidence against David and Cindy, but don't pursue Rob? This makes no sense.
