About 21 seconds of gore was cut to get a US R rating. The cut gore can be seen on the US laserdisc from Dimension, which I own. It's never been added back into the movie for any DVD or Blu-ray release I know of.
Would you say that these 21 seconds of "blood and gore" would enhance the viewing experience? Or - put the other way around - are we missing anything, now that they are not included?
What we won't learn, unless the team that made this movie were to enter this discussion, is if there was anything left on the cutting room floor that could change/improve the final product and if those parts were salvaged by any chance.
Question to the OP: Is there any particular reason why you are looking for a Director's Cut? Do you think there is anything missing from the movie as it stands?
The theatrical version IS the director's cut. The cut represents Rodriguez' version of the movie, not the studios.
