Path 2 sequel
20 years ago was released the movie “From Dusk Till Dawn” which got a cult status very fast. A lot of viewers around the world dreamt of seeing a sequel to the story of the magnificent gangster Seth Gecko brilliantly played by George Clooney but instead of it two vaguely resembling stories followed. Some kind of escape was a computer game that gave an opportunity to see the owner of the famous tattoo again. It seemed the story was finished but not for me. When I realized that it was in my hands to further the story of my favorite character I wrote the screenplay and gave it the name “From Dusk Till Dawn: Escape from Mexico”.
At the very beginning the viewers can see El Rey, a mysterious town, which was never shown earlier. This place, which is a mythical heaven for any outlaw, has become a living hell for Seth. Trying to break free from the deadlock Gecko becomes a hunted animal followed by the cartel, the cops and his personal enemies. But the worst thing is that the way back home lies through the very same bar. It will be a night of reckoning, binding the lines of totally different characters. In order to survive, they will go through the circles of hell and experience real friendship, treachery, and retribution. Dicing with death, Seth Gecko will have to overcome formidable challenges to survive...or die game.
Then I tried to get the script across to the right people but all my calls and emails haven’t yielded any tangible results. Also a real surprise came from Robert Rodriguez who was going to remake the original film in the form of TV series. When the series was released I saw how deep the difference between our stories. Only the name of the main character and existence of vampires unite our projects.
Now I am clear about bringing my script to life on the big screen as I believe both these projects can easily coexist. The same has already happened in the history of world cinematography. To the best of my knowledge and belief, it's up to George Clooney to play this character again which rocketed him to fame all over the world. Action movie is a genre of filmmaking in which he plays quite convincingly but regretfully doesn't treat viewers very often with it.
In order to be heard by stars I drew a graphic novel which is the prequel to my screenplay that deeper connects the script and the original film. The first issue of the novel “From Dusk Till Dawn: Path of Seth Gecko” will be available in the end of this year.
