She was 23 at the time? Boy, she looks 14.

Well, but seriously? I'm 18 now and she looked much older.

Yeah I agree she doesn't look 14. I can buy her as an older teenager though, like 18 and 19. She acts like an older teenager compared to a younger teenager. I think the OP is jus amazed by how much younger Juliette Lewis looks in this movie compared to today.

I swear that the script said that the character was 19.

Thats the whole point shes suppose 2 look 14.

I'd have said more like sixteen, but anyway, very young. Certainly not twenty-three!

I'm watching this now and thought what a beautiful teenager she was, and it made me curious her actual age when filming. Finding out she was well into adulthood at the time was a bit startling. 

"She wasn't emo! She just liked cutting herself!"

Considering she knew how to drive and when Seth told her to have a drink and she couldn't because she wasn't 21 yet, I'm thinking she was 18-19.
