A big mistake

I live but a few miles from where this film was shot (near Lindsay, Ont) and there is one mistake I can't get over. One night when I was about 11 we got a phone call that a film crew was interested in shooting a scene on our my grandparents property (which is adjacent to ours). We all gathered on the deck and watched as Anna Paquin walked across the corn field. This scene made it into the movie but does not make sense. It is when she is carrying the eggs across a corn field. Now these eggs are suppose to be from the barn to the house and the barn is shown to be ( and is in-reality) only a few hundred feet from the house. Every aerial shot shows there is no corn within miles of the house (and in 'reality' there wasn't). I don't understand why they chose this shot and what they were thinking.

Well because the house doesn't have to be the same has yours (or your grandparent's). If they use right angles or show a wider field the house can look larger. They probably did it so that she could carry the eggs through a larger distance instead of just walking a bit to the barn.

Agree!!

A movie is not a documentary which must photo to a actual scene.

It might be a fantastic scene from the director or photo director.

I don't ever remember her carrying the eggs in a corn feild. I never even saw a corn feild on their property. I saw her in one when her dad's plane crashed. But hey, your the one who watched part of it being made. What do I know? But I do know that she only carried the eggs from the marsh to the barn.

there's a shot where she carries the eggs through rows of perhaps ankle high crops. i guess the original poster meant that.

actually i think she was taking the eggs from the marsh to the barn.. not the barn to the house... i dont think the eggs were ever in the house. im watching the movie now and that what it looks like to me.. could be wrong thou...
