Based on a True Story

I started watchng the special feature Ultra Geese, but wasn't able to see it in its entirety, while you could see similarities that could inspire this film it didn't seem to have anything to do with a young girl and her father. So, for any one who say Ultra Geese in its entirety was all that changed to make the movie more appealing? Deos anyone know?

What do you mean? Yes, the movie is based off of a true story. No, the "true story" is not about a little girl flying geese with her dad. Bill Lishman and his partner who were working on this project were the ones involved in imprinting the geese, and actually I believe they tried to get them imprinted on the planes more than the people themselves. Details, like the crash scene from the beginning are true, and there really was a goose named Igor, though his story is different from the one in the movie. I've met Bill Lishman [Jeff Daniels] character, spent 2 weeks with him and listened to him talk all about the movie and the project, so i can try and answer any questions you have.

Thank you very much for your response. Was thinking it didn't involve a girl and her dad from what I did see of the Ultra Geese before it cut out. Any info you can give about the true even would be helpful as it turns out they have a copy of the movie (without the Ultra Geese) segment and the nursing home I work at and I was planning on showing it to the residents, and it would be nice to have some info on the true event.
