I dunno, it kinda illustrates how much she grows up during the course of the film. But what a film. i first saw it in the cinema when i was 7 and it was first released. im now 17 and i still love it and still almost brings me to tears!! lol

I have pretty much the exact same story!! I've loved this movie since I was little.. I'm 18 now and watched it last night and I have to say.. I still love it!

Well, I first watched "Fly Away Home" when it came out on video and it brought me to tears, especially the last part when Amy is piloting the last 30 miles to the endangered refuge accompanied by the enchanting "10,000 Miles" by Mary Chapin Carpenter. Now, 10 years later, my wife and I watched it again last night (for probably the 10th time) and I was moved to tears again, and I'm not 17, but almost 62.

Carroll Ballard is a genius director, especially when at the creative helm of films involving animals. When his latest endeavor, "Duma," a wonderful film, was ignored by the studio and released with little fanfare or publicity, Ballard announced that he was leaving the film business.

A damn shame.

Yeah the ending sequence is edited with such a fine touch. I don't know precisely what it is about it, but it's impossible to watch without being moved.

The nose ring was an in-film joke... when they were filming, she went out and bought a fake nose ring and put it in to frighten the crew. They loved it so they put it into the script!

When I watched the movie with my parents recently (my Christmas present!) they thought it could have gone without the ring. I thought it looked good on her, but then again I am just a little older than Amy's character.

ha ha. my mom hates the nose ring, because i was inspired by it to get my own nose pierced.

this is really one of my favorite, favorite movies. i think it's just brilliant. instead of something magical or fantastic happening to the kid, she takes a situation that was already brewing and turns it to her advantage. also, the adults in the film actually take the kid seriously, which most adults aren't wont to do. she's so poised.

i love it.

MrsGriffin i acutally like it look pretty good :)

though you got your Own opioion and i repsect that.

i was a few years older than her when the movie was put out and me and most of my friends had fake noserings, one of my friends even had her nose perced. it was a mid nineies thing. didnt matter if it looked good or not, we wanted to be adult and alternative.
