shareIt's not that bad really. She's taking a shower yes, but they don't zoom in on her, or show anything. What happens is she presses the shampoo button on the shower nozzle and it sprays into her eyes, so she starts screaming and her dad breaks down the door to check on her and there is one of his friends that sees Amy, but that's about it.
shareIt shows her head.
shareIt is great that you want to show your kids this movie because it really is a nice film. No, you don't have to fast forward the shower scene. As the person above me said you don't see anything. All that happens is that while Amy is showering with the baby geese, she squirts shampoo in her eyes and screams as she climbs out of the shower. Her dad barges in on her and her dads friend sees her. The only thing you see is her head, feet, and back while all this happens. No nudity...but maybe I should mention the scene with Jeff Daniels running outside in his underwear lol.

There's nothing remotely offensive, or sexual, about AP's shower scene. She's just a kid.
Death to Videodrome! Long live the new flesh!
While not unheard of (think Brooke Shields in "Pretty Baby" at age 12) I doubt filmmakers would ever show an actress around Anna Paquin's age nude in any movie. It was controversial back in the 70s when Brooke Shields did it and we've only grown more conservative and mindful of protecting children since.
Personally, I found that scene disturbing. It's obviously traumatic for Anna's character to have a strange man suddenly see her naked in that way. It would have been traumatic for me at that age. I wish it wasn't in the movie, because the rest of the film is brilliant, beautiful, and altogether uplifting. But I would not show this movie to children.

Why wouldn't you show this to children? It has nothing really bad in it. The worse thing is a car crash, and somebody says 'Holy sh*t' at some point. I haven't seen this in awhile, though, but I think that's all. And I doubt children would have a problem with the shower scene.

Maybe I didn't do a good enough job explaining. It's not because she's naked. It's because she's terrified and screaming as a strange man looks at her. That's the only reason.
>he probably wouldnt have any problem showing all the violent movies made in Hollywood. Only in USA ...
1. No, just because I'm an American doesn't mean that I think violence is fun (or that the human body is shameful).
2. I'm not a "he".
Well, the scene itself shows less than the average soap commercial.
The scene though serves an important dramatic purpose - it finally provides a way for Susan (Dad's girlfriend) to bond with Amy. After this point in the film Amy, Thomas, and Susan actually begin to function as a family.
i'm an american but i agree with you we're really stupid
i watched this movie when i was two and i loved it it is absolutely my favorite movie EVER
