UMM help me out with this....

These girls graduated college together. They were best friends and starting out on the real world and into their lives from college, its not like they were high school friends or anything but even so doesnt anyone find that its kind of odd that all of them who claim to have been "so close" are all living in manhattan and have been apparently for quite sometime given their surroundings and have NOT made ANY attempt to see each other until one of them kills themselves. Kinda misses the whole point of the movie but ok

No, that is the point of the movie. All the women thought that they didn't need to stay close to each other once they got married, but they did need each others' strength.

I like your screen name. I haven't seen that movie in a long time, though.

And there was one world with nothing but shrimp. I tired of it quickly.

Not strange at all. It happens all the time, unfortunately.

BTW, I love your SN. I wish Edie McClurg would do more these days. :(

I think that was kind of the point, these women thought they no longer needed each other once they got married, turns out they needed each other more than ever. They thought that being a good wife, (Annie) having kids (Brenda) and becoming successful (Elise) was more important than friendship.
Also, I don't think it was like they just stopped seeing each other one day. It was through a period of like 30 years almost! Coz they graduated in the 60s and this movie was set in the 90s...
Hope that helped!
