Something I noticed...

Did anyone else wonder how Morty didn't know who Duarto Feliz was? They made it seem in the movie like Brenda had been working with him for a while. How does her ex-husband not know who she works with? And if Morty did know who Duarto was; why did he let the guy come to his new girlfriends apartment?

Good question!

Honestly, that never occurred to me, since I get so caught up in the movie to notice.

Maybe Morty was always too wrapped up in his own business to notice what was going on in Brenda's life and never met Duarto?

Maybe the job came AFTER the divorce? After all, would Brenda HAVE to work if Morty was such a bigshot?

Brenda worked behind the register in his first store (and according to him first 15 stores, but she could just be exaggerating to indicate she helped him establish many of his stores).

So after he started making all this new money, he dumped his little old wife, to move onto some young hot piece. Brenda would've needed to find a new job, and went to work for Duarto, but Morty wouldn't necessarily have known exactly where she worked or who she worked for.

OP, if you should be questioning anything, it's that Duarto was with Brenda when she ran into Morty in the Women's Department, but he was hiding off to the side, that's why Morty didn't see him.

It's likely that when Morty dumped her for the slut, she had to get the job with Duarto, and being as absorbed in the Shelly slash as he was, he didn't notice or care what she was doing. Odd the kid never mentioned it though, the name SHOULD have meant something, although it not being so makes him seem all the more disconnected from Brenda.
