Aother masterpiece score...

by Carter Burwell. The hauntingly beautiful score was a gift for those of us who watched the movie.

"So, what would you like to see on your honeymoon, Mrs. Cord?" "Lots of lovely ceilings."

One of my all time favorites and I have the opening score on repeat often. It's a real shame that of all his works, some of his absolute best has never even been released on CD. It's more than worthy, but I suppose audio samples will have to do.

I don't know what audio samples are, but you don't have to buy the CD. All you have to do is copy the url of that song on youtube. It's here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W2FroEqT0Y

Then go to to the youtube converter site, which is here:

http://www.youtube-mp3.org/

Paste the url and hit "convert video", then "download". Go to your download file and drag it into your device.

Yeah, good call. That's how I originally first got it. My real curiosity lies with where that person got it, since the track was never officially released.

Sadly youtube only has the opening segment and as great as it is I'd like to hear the rest of the film's incredible score, in all its original, unedited glory.

Since not all of composer's Carter Burwell's work has been officially released on CD, his website offers free MP3 audio samples of his unreleased scores to listen to and for download.

Among them includes segments from his original Fear score including when David and Nicole have sex, when David stalks Nicole at the Mall and the David/Margo car chase sequence.

They're great to listen to and only makes me want to hear more from it.

Actually, why do you care where the youtube video came from? I'm just curious.

Also, there are TONS of songs and mixes from Fear on youtube. I just sent you the opening theme randomly as an example.

Actually the version you listed, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W2FroEqT0Y isn't the one I'm curious about, since it's simply a rip of the audio from the opening of the film.

I'm talking about this, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q58pfqN44yM which sounds like an extended version of the opening score and runs an extra 45 seconds longer than the version we all know in the film.

I care because aside from the composer releasing about 15 min of official audio (entitled 'Opening', 'Car Chase', 'Entry' and 'Cherries') from his website, the score to this film has never been released. Including that extended opening, which is not available from his site. So as glad as I am to have it, I have to wonder how it was obtained and where it came from.

Yes, but as far as I've seen none of them feature an extended intro segment not featured in the film.
