Why Robert Doob killed Julie by Anonymous

I might be wrong for saying this, but I think I know why Robert Doob killed Julie (never mind the rape). I think it's because everytime her mother and her goes to the market that he works at, he puts up with her speech impediment. He makes fun of it during the court case when he says to the parents, "Sorry!" Therefore, proving he did it! Finally, it gets to him and he kills her for it! I kept thinking, "Why would he kill this person when this person didn't do a thing to him?" That's the only thing, right now, that seems to make sense. Also, that he's a very sick man and being a sick man, a lot of little, insignificant things could drive a man like him berserk! What do you think? Go ahead, go on! Call me stupid, an idiot, a moron, I can take it!

Really REALLY good observation. Hadn't thought of that...kudos. :)

reply

They went to that market? Wasn't his job located in that nasty part of the city?

good theory though but it doesn't match with the Hispanic lady. Unless he didn't like the idea of being tipped $5.

I own this movie but i never noticed that Julie had a speech impediment what part of the movie is this evident I just thought the SSSSorry part was to make her parents angry at court

You are my work of art, Homer. Everything else has been just a job.

reply

Um it was quite obvious in the beginning the ONLY scenes she was in, when shes speaking French shes stutters a bit and when shes at home carrying the cake she stutters. When shes saying "theres someone at the Ddoor" was very pronounced.

reply

i guess i just didn't think that those short incidences indicated a speech impediment...

You own it? You don't own anything. You just bought the privilege to watch it when you want but you don't own it. I also have that privilege and I didn't have to 'pay' for it like you did. I have it as a digital file.

It's ok. Now you know.

reply

Well, when that detective mentioned that he worked there to Sally Field, she said that she used that market. So yes, she did go to that market.

Well he killed the hispanic lady for pretty much no other reason except I think he wanted her but knew he couldn't have her, so he raped and murdered her. So maybe he wanted Julie but knew he couldn't have her. I mean men who rape do it for some underlying sexual reason or some sort of tension. If they can't have the girl the way they want her they'll try and take control of her physically and sexually therefore getting exactly what they want.

WTF?!

reply

That possibility over Julie's speech impediment didn't occur to me. I thought he killed her because he didn't want her testifying which was the same reason he killed the Hispanic girl. He did seem annoyed at getting a $5 tip though. Who knows whats with a person like that. He had no remorse so killing both of them was no big deal to him.

reply

The really saddening fact is that Julie and The Hispanic Lady were probably not even the only victims of his. My guess is that Doob had been doing this for years, and had been eluding the authorities that whole time.

reply

I think a lot of you are thinking way too much here, things or meanings don't always have to be so obtuse. Doob was a sick and twisted man, who used his job to gain access into peoples homes without drawing attention (he is a delivery man) and then rapes them. The victims obviously see his face and know where he works, which is why he kills them afterwards. Why leave someone alive when they know who you are, and where you work?

reply

The man is a SOCIOPATH. He has no conscience, his victims are not people to him and there is nothing personal about why he does what he does. He does it because he gets a sick twisted joy from inflicting from pain on others. Julie and the hispanic woman were not people to him. Just like his many other past victims, they were just two more unsuspecting females he took advantage of because he's a sick sadistic low life who doesn't deserve to live. Why try to make sense of the actions of someone like that? It's not possible, I think this whole thread was started as a sick joke.

reply

Seeing that you despise the character so much, that's good. It proves the actor did his job well.

[deleted]

No, not Keifer, his character in the movie I mean.

reply

He is a sick man who likes to kill and rape, which is why he does it again even after getting away with it the first time. It had nothing to do with a speech impediment. I think you are crazy and too cowardly to reveal your real name. You probably need a guy like Doob to rape a member of your family and get off to see what it is like.

reply

To stevenackerman69 and jenni doll 1, I am sorry if you think this is all stupid. I just thought it would be an interesting thing to discuss and point out, that's all. Well, I'd like to thank you two for proving me wrong. I cannot tell you how hurt I am right now after reading your comments. If I knew something like this was going to happen, I never would've done it. Once again, I'm sorry.

Jeprice08 u don't have to justify yourself to these porch monkeys, all good investigators look for ANY clue to a crime, NO HOLD BARS. Doob went to that house to kill julie plain and simple and had mom been there balls to the wall, he would have killed her too. Not even the cop nor a gun would have stopped since he CLEARY taunted both, only a few bullets in his lungs heart stopped him, see the scumb@g is in a bodybag, job well done. He was Sso sorry @ the end.

In reality, most murders are crimes of need, not want. which puts this guy up there with the great ones. Dahmer, Gacy, Koresh, Manson; they did it b/c it excited them.

reply

I'm not going to insult you, but it's silly to try to come up with reasoning and justifications for his crime. Like he told her at the end, it could have been anybody. It was just a case of convenience and access and how easy it would be to get away with it. Not being of something as simple as a stutter.

reply

I never noticed a speech problem with the daughter...but it is odd that Doob said..."S-s-s-sorry". Why DID he stutter??? Does anyone know? I don't think the girl stuttered....it made NO sense to me.

reply

You did notice a stutter at points, but it wasn't an extremely noticeable one. If you weren't paying attention, you might have missed it.

I wonder if it's because when you are a kid and you get into an argument with another kids, you shake and go, I'm SOOOOO SCARED. I think he was mocking them or taunting them. Knowing that he bested them and got away with it. He knew that they knew he was guilty and he was harrassing them about the fact.

Kiefer Sutherland is a verstile actor that does a fine job of making you hate him. I was really wanting him dead at the end of the movie, which is a sign that he did a great job.

I was aware of her speech impedement though very slim, but I just think basically he killed her so she was unable to identify him, same goes for the Hispanic woman.

Captain Jack:. ‘....Savy’

In the end he explains it could of been anyone, it was not personal. I think he just picked her cause he was into her sexually, and had the chance. What he did in the court room was just adding salt and lemon juice to the open wound.
