Fargo v. English Patient

I am just going to come out and say yes Fargo was a better movie, but that doesn't mean this movie isn't great and beautiful. TEP was great for what it was and a mystical to see up on the screen especially if you had read the book like I have. But Fargo captured everything someone wants in a movie and made it perfect. If I had seen both movies the year they came out I would have been on the English Patient band-wagon, but it hasn't held up like Shakespeare in Love (still great but not as good as SPR) Dances with Wolves, Chariots of Fire, The Godfather part 2 (AMAZING MOVIE, but it beat Chinatown?), In the Heat of the Night, and (what I believe will happen) The Artist.

Saving Private Ryan is HORRIBLY overrated. The Thin Red Line was the best picture of 1998. I also believe Fargo was the best of 1996 but I still loved The English Patient. What happens with people on here is if a movie beats their favorite film that year at the (Also overrated) Academy Awards, it suddenly means that movie is bad. The English Patient was great. As far a Chinatown and The Godfather Pt II go, I believe both are 2 of the best films in existence so either one could have been chosen. Dances with Wolves was also fantastic but GoodFellas is superior by only a little in my eyes.
