Plane crash deliberate?

Firstly, sorry if this has been discussed somewhere else. If so, I have missed it.
It seemed to me that Geoffry crashed the plane into Almasy deliberately? How could anyone go to pick up a third person in a two seater plane?
When he is recounting the crash afterwards he said he knew Clifton was flying crazily,but said he took little notice until he was almost on top of him. And Katherine said he cried out that he loved her. So I thought he had done it to kill them all? Haven't read the book.

I haven't read the book either but I agree with you.

He wanted to kill them all because of how angry he was about the affair and that Catherine never said anything or never suggested about braking up.

Yes and he did kill them all as a result, just at different times than he expected to.

I've wondered about that, too. It's not explained in the movie or the book. I can only guess that we're supposed to assume Geoffrey lied to Katherine about what they were flying there to do--he didn't tell her that he had arranged with Almasy to pick him up.

You just killed the tragedy of the story.

This is a tragic and intense romance and you just made me laugh, you are a bad person lol

Just like a friend from work, I told her the intense love story between Christian and Satine and she just came with an idea that ruined the whole idea of the beautiful and tragic romance.
