Would you consider this a chick flick ?

Yes it's a film that won oscars and critics liked it a lot but still I would I consider this a chick flick since it appeals mostly to the female audience who look for a good romance to watch and the idea of a love triangle where two man love her very much.

Umm...maybe? The complication being that the term means different things and covers a different "spectrum" of films for different people. (Pretty much the same problem that arises when people discuss what qualifies a film into the "Epic" genre) I guess the best answer I can give that it is no more or less as much a chick flick (whether one uses that as a term of endearment or condemnation) as much as something like Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, or Doctor Zhivago is. So I suppose I'm not completely sure either way. Though I don't think there is any particular problem in calling any one of these films a chick flick though it one does really think they qualify.

I agree that being a chick flick it's not a bad thing, sadly that Idea has been associated to the term but I qualify it in a good way.

I think chick flicks can be great and The English is one of them. My idea of chick flicks are films which appeal more to woman and we have some In every film genre.

I'd say yours works fine as a definition, and that you make a good case for this movie qualifying.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked my definition and not to be cocky but it'd the definition everyone should use for chick flicks.
